Sprinty Steed

Inspired by the great Australian tradition of horse races like the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and yes - even "The Everest"! YOU control the action by racing your horse on to victory!

Use the Settings menu to choose your horse name.

How To Play

• Press [SPACE] or click your mouse button to collect the stars at the right pace to gallop ahead to victory 🏆
• Miss a star and you'll slacken off 🎠
• Get your timing wrong and fall back 🐌

Sprinty Steed is an easy to play horse racing game suitable for everyone! It has a very simple play mechanic so you don't need to know anything about horse racing, but you might find it to be more fun if you know what a horse is 😄

This project began as a last minute sprint the weekend before Melbourne Cup in 2014 with the original game being made in just 4 hours!

It has since become a 'tradition' to add a little more to the game each year during the Spring Carnival in time for the Melbourne Cup.

Winx horse made her debut in 2014, the same year I originally made this game. Since then she has gone on to become an amazing legend! On the 27th October 2018, Race 9 at Moonee Valley, she won her 4th consecutive Cox Plate and her 29th consecutive win!

Working on this game has brought me in touch with the high spirits that embrace the horse racing community. Although I'm certainly not a seasoned punter, I now know the thrill of the race and the highs and lows that make the community so exciting and enthusiastic! Oh yeah, everyone dresses so nice!

I'm one bloke who has grown to love the races, and this game is my tribute.
